By Car:
From the South
(USA & White Rock): Take Highway 99 north, which
eventually becomes Oak Street, into Vancouver (allow about
50-60 mins. from border). Turn left on Broadway Street
going west, drive 2 blocks past Granville Street, and turn
right on Fir Street. Proceed 6 blocks north down Fir
Street and turn right onto 2nd Avenue. You will come to a
four way stop; turn left at the stop to enter Granville
Island.
From the North & Downtown: Travel across the
Lion’s Gate Bridge entering downtown via Georgia Street.
Turn right onto Burrard Street and head south over the
Burrard Street Bridge (keep left). Turn left onto 2nd
Avenue, drive three blocks, and turn left at the four way
stop to enter Granville Island.
From the East: Enter Vancouver via Highway 1 and
take the Grandview Highway exit. Grandview Street becomes
12th. Avenue. Follow 12th. heading west to Fir Street (25
mins.) and turn right; travel 10 blocks on Fir (downhill
& north) and turn right onto 2nd Avenue. At the four
way stop, turn left to enter Granville Island. You can
also take the small harbour ferries from the downtown side
of False Creek; they board at the Aquatic Centre with the
first departure at 7:00 am.
From the Airport:
Depart from the
airport heading north and follow the signs to Vancouver
city centre (allow 25-30 mins.). Take the Granville Street
exit from the Arthur Lang Bridge and follow Granville
Street to 16th Avenue. Turn left on 16th Avenue, drive one
block, and turn right onto Fir Street. Travel 14
blocks north and turn right onto 2nd Avenue. You will come
to a four way stop; turn left at the stop to enter
Granville Island. Taxi fare is approx. $20-25 CDN.
By Boat:
Once you have
entered False Creek via English Bay, you will pass under
the Burrard Bridge. The next bridge you see will be
Granville; the Granville Island area is situated right
underneath the bridge. Make your way around the north side
of the Island to public moorage in front of the Public
Market and the Arts Centre. Our office is located directly
south, across the big parking lot and in a blue building
next to the marina; within 2 min. walking distance.
To the Office & Parking:
Our office is
located on Duranleau Street at the west end of Granville
Island;as you enter the island area, make the loop around
toward the market. We are in a blue building, beside the
marina & red barn -- just south of the big yellow
Bridge’s Restaurant. There is paid parking.
The GRANVILLE ISLAND area is under the
Granville Street Bridge (South End), just five minutes from
downtown Vancouver.
